My husband got arrested for DWI last weekend. In his signed statement he said something that was not true. We are meeting with a lawyer today and I think he should tell the whole true story of the events, but he says the lawyer probably would not take the case or would not let him plead not guilty or whatever. I think he should tell the attorney the whole truth and let him do his job. Are there penalties for lying on the police report? He thinks his stories have to match. This untruth has nothing to do with how many drinks he had. Thanks.
