My son has been going to court for this traffic ticket. But I am not understanding everything.
And he does not want to tell me anything, even thou he lives under our roof.
To sum it up real quick.

We live in Illinois
9-3-07 Driving on rvk/ speeding
9-9-07 Driving on rvk/ no insurance

11-13-07 State filed a criminal feleny charge of
Driving rvk/susp dui/sss2nd

2-15-08 court date for arraigment
4-1-08 court date for status hearing

What does all this mean? For if it was me I would all ready be sitting in jail.
I just do not undersdtand what an arraigment is, nor what a status hearing is, and what happens from here.

An arraignment is where the judge asks the defendant if he is guilty or not guilty. If he pleads guilty, he may be sentenced then or later. If he pleads not guilty, he will have a trial then or later.

A status hearing is the judge wants to know what is going on in the case.
