Ok, My last post didnt work so how this question! Does anyone know if the police can take the car from you after you have reported it stolen and have you pay to get it back from the towing company?? This was my brothers only car and I have read that they can not take a persons only car. Does ANYONE know anything about this and if so please get back to me.

yes, they can do that. They can order a towing company to take it and safeguard it (store it). The owner is responsible for the cost. Of course the owner then can sue the thief to get the money back.
