My obgyn put me on Wellbutrin about 7months ago ,ok well that made me fail a drug test when I delivered my daughter ok well I didn't know I was pregnant untill I was 7 months along I had period took birth control pills . Well dhr is trying to take my kids cause my drug test keeps coming up as methampedinie. How can they do that

Yes I told the nurse when I went in to be induced . I have failed every one of the test and of course my newborn tested for the same thing I did . It shows up as meth and I have been taking the Wellbutrin for 7 months and was on three other antidepressants before this one

dhr is saying there gonna take my children because of this and yes they know I take the med but they don't care . My obgyn even did a drug screen to see how it shows up in my system and it shows meth

Likely because the baby tested positive for meth at birth.

I agree, however, the doctor & hospital would have known about the mother's use of Welbutrin and the fact that it could cause a skewed test result. Furthermore, the doctor and lab would also know of the OP's use of Welbutrin and the effects it can have on the tests. No, there's something else going on here...

I'm betting DHR didn't buy that Wellbutrin would show as meth. It can.

False positives do appear in various drug testing scenarios, however, the result can quickly, easily be rebutted with follow up testing routines.

Statistically, when the subject reveals her/his prescribed medications, the truth is rapidly revealed.

DHR doesn't have a market for children, so... I agree with AJ and Zigner. There is something more going on here then Welbutrin.

I agree. An initial test may show the potential presence of a substance, but additional testing can usually differentiate between the real drug and those that give false positives.

Wellbutrin will stay in your system for weeks. Are you still taking the medication or have you stopped? If you have not stopped you will keep failing the tests. Once you have stopped it could take several weeks to eliminate it from your body and get a clean result.

Also, if you can show you had a prescription for Wellbutrin it is unlikely your kids will be taken from you without some further evidence you were taking illegal drugs.
Did you have a history of methamphetamine use that they are considering, even if not using it now?

Hmm, BUT your OB/GYN gave you Wellbutrin even though you BOTH knew (or had recently learned) you were preggers?

When I got pregnant, my psychiatrist removed me from all my prescriptions, including Welbutrin.

The hospital did a drug test on me there saying it's cause I didn't receive prenatal care before 26 weeks , but if your don't know your pregnant then what would you get the care ? . They did a safety plan took the kids and placed them in my grandmothers home .niw cause was coming to an end I met with the drug assessment counselor she said she didn't see signs of drug abuse she then did another drug test and of course I failed again I have done hair folical , blood test drew by drug task force , and 3 iron test all the same all failed . Now they wanting to get my sister to file for custody for both my kids ,but they can still be with me . The juvenile probation officer said dhr did t have a case and that's who removes kids from homes but dhr is still pushing

Most of what they do is with your consent.
It is perfectly ok to say no. Even the safety plan you mention was with your consent. If you are concerned about their actions against you then stop allowing them to do what they want.

What are you taking to keep failing? Yeah you really do need a lawyer.

I was taking to Wellbutrin and it shows up as anphedimine it makes you have a false positive and I will untill it gets out of your system
