Life's too short. Is your depression caused by conditions at work? There might be something for that. Otherwise I don't really know of any other way anyone gets paid compensation to take care of their own stuff. Ride it out. It will get better. 
Given the pressue that is going on with us in the dot com industry we'd all be in therapy, have a doctor's note, and on the company payroll. Not to joke in any way, but I think that there probably needs to be some type of depression due to work conditions or the like where you might be able to get worker's compensation.
Perhaps you should also check your insurance policy too.
