I worked for walmart for 18 years. Never been wrote up. I was dept. Manager for 10 to 12 of those years. We got a new manager over us and all of a sudden I was being wrote up every time I turned around. I only agreed with the 2nd write up. I was wrote up 3 times and then given a choice to be fired or demoted. Of course I was demoted. When I became dept. Manager I only got a 50 cent raise. Now they have took $1.61 an hour away from me. I earned my money thru merit raises and evaluations. Never had a bad evaluation. Can they take more than 50 cent from me?

Yes.

Generally, you can be demoted and your wages reduced as much as to minimum wage for any reason or no reason as long as the employer is not acting in violation of an employment contract (which I doubt that you have) or a collective bargaining agreement (which I also doubt) or any discrimination against a protected class.

Your recourse is to seek employment elsewhere.
