dad steals sons life insurance

mom died when I was 13 . she named both me and my brother on her life insurance policy. We were each supposed to get roughly 20,000.00 .we were both minors at the time so we would receive it at age 18. I got mine my aunt was the guardian since I was a minor .but my brother has a different father (my step dad) that was his guarantor. Well he never received a cent of that money. We live in nj . can he sue? Does he have any legal options?

It's possible that the money was held in a trust. I'm guessing the step-father was the boy's guardian (not guarantor.) The first step would be to ask the guardian and other research can be performed to track where the money went (such as contacting the life insurance company with information provided by the original poster.) Must perform research before suing in court as there is no legal dispute until there is actually a dispute in issue.
