Custody of my nephew?

My sister is living with and abusive man and while she was preganant he has hit her and after my nephew was born they would neglect him without food an water. If I can prove they are unfit parents could I or my mother get custody of my nephew. What would I have to do?

Contact CPS/DHR/DHS and make a report if things are that bad.

Unfortunately, what a layperson may think is unfit is not what the state thinks is unfit.

If a child is being harmed, for that matter if anyone is being harmed, call "911" IMMEDIATELY.
Don't waste time if someone is in danger, call the police, get them help ASAP.
