My daughter is currently attending and living at a four year college and I (the father) am paying all the freight. I am currently seeking a divorce and my attorney had mentioned that I have custody of my daughter, but he used a term for that custody. Can you explain??
Thank you

I do not remember, that is why I am asking you what the legal term. is for this type of custody.

I suggest you ask your attorney.

If she's a normal adult attending college, you couldn't possibly have custody of her.

If she has mental health issues, you could be her conservator, perhaps. If you were, you'd know that.

Speak to your attorney, that's why you doled out that loot.

I agree with AJ was the word "conservator or conservatorship"? There is no custody unless your child has some sort or mental issues or th elike and if thats the case how did she get in College? You really need to call your Lawyer to clarify what he meant.
