custody and mental health

I'm curious again....My first question is if a father has poor mental history and has custody would it be possible for them to look at his medical records if moms trying to gain custody? Also if they can how mentaly ill does one have to be to be considered unfit or likely to not keep or gain custody? Say for example bipolar disorder, explosive anger disorder (or something like that) if the father was properly medicated and hasn't had problems with them would these be likely disorders to deam him as unfit? thanks for the input!

If the father is properly medicated and hasn't had problems with them there is no grounds for loss of custody. Medical records are privileged they are not discoverable.
