I ran up wife credit card (max out).. not in my name // what can I do legally to correct this ...

Nothing if you are not an authorized user. If you pay it off quickly, she might not press charges.

If she's your wife, there's nothing she can do to you, LEGALLY. Marriage is a contract, a partnership. What's hers is yours, what's yours is hers. Now, if you're separated, or divorced, you have a problem. The right thing to do, is pay for what you've used. Why? Because, you'll probably be getting divorce papers soon, anyway.
