Drug Crimes, Substance Abuse conflict of intrest question/drug charge

in the late 90s i hired a small town attorny to represant me on two differant drug charges. he convinced me to plead guilty. while he kept me out of jail, later i found out he was the towns lawyer and had close dealings with the cops in that town if i had known this i would never had hired him. was this a conflict of intrest on his part?

I doubt there is anything you can do about it, especially this late in the game. I don't think this constitutes a conflict of interest, one may even argue that his ties and associations made him a more effective attorney.
