Parole, Probation Conditions of Probation

A middle-aged friend was recently placed on probation for a DWI conviction. Her son is currently in the county jail.

A condition of her probation bars associating with people who have criminal records. Does the prohibition apply to member of one's immediate family?

And while I'm on the subject, I had a DWI conviction in 1983. Should I avoid contact with her during her probation?

Criminal Record alone is a bit ridiculous. The term is usually "known felons."

Thanks for the advice. Of course, what the probation department says is what she'll have to live by. I just don't get a warm, fuzzy feeling about government bureaucracy. I retired from the Army so I know how something can turn into a crap shoot in a hurry.
