Auto Loans co-borrower on an auto loan

I am the primary on an auto loan and my ex is the co-borrower I just found out that he hasn't made a car payment since February 2014. The only reason is because the loan company called me. He won't tell me where the car is and I know he wont just hand it over how can I get the car back before its repossesed

You are responsible for the loan but that does not mean the car is yours to take!
The cat still belongs to the bank.

See what the lender will do if you agree to get the payments current. Get everything in writing before you proceed with sending the money.

They can just come after you. You want them to not to do that until you have the car in possession. If they agree, that'll avoid unpleasantries. So, you must be nice to them.

They can get the car, hold the car until you pay.
Again, ask for everything in writing, before you pay.
Can't hurt to ask. If you decide to do that, don't discuss any of your plan with your former spouse.

They can also press charges for willfully concealing the car from repossession.
