Yesterday I Was Served By A Peace Officer Court Papers For A Petition And Child Support Review Order From A Lady That I Had A One Night Stand With Way Back In 1989 And She Is Claiming That I Am The Father Of Her 18 Year Old Son. I Have Not Seen Or Heard From This Women Since Then And All Of The Sudden I Am The Father Of Her Son?These Papers Show Amounts Of Child Support I Need To Pay.This Is Ridiculous How Can The Courts Automatically Assume That I Am The Father Without My Name On The BC As The Father,no Paternity Test Just Her Going In There And Saying That I Am The Father!
I Am Directed To File A Written Answer To The Petition And Child Support Review Or Request A Court Hearing Within 20 Days. What Am I To Do? Do I Need A Attorney?

If you had no paternity test, weren't married and didn't sign a document of paternity, it's highly unlikely a valid order for support exists. Did you receive an old order that is now going to be reviewed? What does it say?

As the child is now 18 - an adult, unless he/she is disabled, it's unlikely a new order for support can be put into place.
