My child (7 y.o.) has his mother's last name, I am current on all obligation's (child support etc.) I see him every week and have him every other weekend. I even help coach his baseball team. Since I have always been an active presence in his life, what are my rights as far as petitioning to have his surname changed to a hyphenated name (i.e. instead on Jones, Jones-Smith)? I believe it would fall under Kentucky state law.
