Hi,

I hope someone can help me. My ex-wife and I were divorced in Florida in March 2008. Since the divorce, my ex has lost her job and she is pregnant. She is not going to go back to work. Part of my child support is about $700 per month in day care support which she no longer needs. My current support is $2,590.00 per month.

WE ARE IN AGREEMENT that the child support should be reduced. We have computed the numbers and are IN AGREEMENT as to how much I should now pay her.

I NEED HELP in filing the correct paperwork. The courthouse gave us about 40pages to fill out, along with all new documentation needed for income. Is all of this necessary? I understand we need to file all of the correct disclosures and requests and the judge needs to approve it, but can't they refer back to the divorce finalized in March regarding financial affidavits and everything else, since nothing else has changed?

Problem is, we need this filed right away! She is moving and we need to file and have the judge look at it ASAP. If we are in complete agreement, what is the best way to streamline this quickly???

We don't have enough money to pay for an attorney at this point.

Thanks!!

Have you tried Florida's Child Support website?

You probably are going to at least talk with an attoreny to see what paperwork is required. My husband just took his 18 yr old daughter off child support and to do this, he had to fill out all the financial info. You may have to do that.
