Hello, I reside in NY, with my wife and our 3 kids... My ex-wife and our 2 kids live in OH since august 2007. The child support order is from NC, where she lived for 2 years until last august. NC is taking the payment from my job, plus $100. for arrears, ( I owe 1,900 dlls) I usually pay whatever arreas with the fed tax.
Now they will take 40% of what ever is left in my weekly check.
Does NC has jurisdiction even when none parties live there, I believed is the state where the kids reside? Can I do something to stop NC taking more money, what about my other kids?

UCCJA, google it, read it.

NC has continuing jurisdiction.

If it were a costody issue, then your state could modify.

What about your other kids? Do you not get to see them now?

I will have to look at which state it was, and the Federal District the case ended up in, but a man did sue a state for Peonage, and the cout agreed.

They are doing the same thing to you at that high of percentage, thay are making you work to live, and extorting you with threat of jail if you dont pay. It's BS. 40%, something is wrong here.

Let me look into this and see what cases I can come up with for you.
