I reside in the state of Georgia. My ex wife's husband has expressed an interest in adopting my two children. They call him dad and have a younger sister in the family now. They want their last name to be the same as their mother and sister. I owe a significant amount of past child support and they have agreed to not persue any arrearage after the adoption. Can the state proceed with action for the past due amount if the court decides to accept the adoption?
