My jurisdiction is: North Carolina

My situation is a little diffrent. I divorced my ex husband about 9yrs ago. At the time I wanted to be rid of him and filed no contest with the verbal agreement that he would support his daughter. His daughter is now twelve yrs old and he's done absolutely nothing including not having a relationship with her. The older she gets her financial needs are becoming greater. I want to pursue child support but, will I also need to file full custody being that it was not court ordered. She has always resided with me. He lives in Indiana. What should I do?

You can file for custody and support. Keep in mind once you do this he probably will want to see her so the court will likely give him some sort of visitation. Be prepared to address the visitation issue if he asks for it. You should be able to file for support by applying on your states website.
