I need some advice. A seventeen year old girl that I have known for 10 years is in fear for her life. Her father, who has full custody, is abusing her. He is a well known person in there community and county. She has went to the police and child protective services and nothing has been done. She has been seen by a doctor and has reports of her ribs being broken by her father. She has ran away several times, but he has found her everytime. She is now pregnant and her father has threatened to kill her and her unborn baby. He has threatened everyone that she knows to the point that noone will help her anymore. The mother is afraid that if she comes to stay with her, that he will be able to legally come and get her. She is now looking to me for advice.... Please help!!!

Mom needs to file for custody ASAP. The child is old enough to tell the courts what is happening. Also is the child in school? She needs to tell a counsellor what is going on. If the DR said she had broken ribs and its because of abuse he is required to report it.

Thank you so much.... Her dad has been forcing her to stay home from school, taken away her cellphone and turned off the house phone. I have been scared to even go to check on her. I thought the doctor was required to report that too.... I honestly think they are not doing anything because of her last name.
