I bought a car from a used cars dealer outside of Chicago. He told me that the car was in perfect condition and that the engine and the transmission were just serviced and that they were found to be in perfect condition. Because he told me he could give me a special price on the car, I bought it. He said they needed to move inventory. The car broke down because of a bad transmission. I felt so stupid. I went to the car dealer and told him that a mechanic said that the transmission was bad and there was no way it was recently inspected and passed. The car dealer told me that the cars are sold as is and that the last time it was looked at it was fine and he would have to look at the records. What should I do? I want my money back because the car dealer told a lie!!!

You really should have had the car inspected before you bought it. Generally used cars are sold as is - it's buyer beware.

Have you heard the one about the sweet, little, old lady from Pasadena?
