For the past seven and a half years we have been living in my sister's house, we upstairs, my sister downstairs, five and a half years ago she and my other sister went to Vegas to take and raise three of my sister's grandkids, now because she didn't want to raise a baby my sister let me and the sister that went to vegas with her raise the baby who was three weeks at the time, she raised the other two downstairs in her apartment. for five and a half years that little girl has know us as family, as her home, oh she knows the others downstairs are her sibs and my sister downstairs is her grandmother.
just a year ago my sister sought and got legal custody and guardianship from her daughter through court. and we have lived here with the little girl in relative peace, but now my sister is losing her house to the bank and we are moving, to different parts of town,my sister because she has legal custody is talking about taking the little girl with her, only because she don't want to get in trouble legally. this child doesn't want to move with her, she wants to remain with us, and we love her dearly she is a part of our lives. my question is this, is it possible for my sister who does have custody of the little girl to legally sign over custody to us without danger of losing the other two. this child cries and begs us not to make her go. and we don't want to, we need help and soon, if there is anyway, please someone let us know

i amnot sure who the father is, these three kids were three of thier mother's nine kids and not all the same father, and up until last year the mother only had custody of two, one has been adopted by another relative, and custody of these three given to my sister, the mother is or was a drug addict, she claims she is cured now, we don't know for sure.

not likely, mother was with more than one man, two are in prison for a long time, one is dead and she doesn't know where the other one is, none of them claim the child, the only one who calls her his child wasn't with her when she was born he was there for a few months after, sort of a step dad, but he had no legal right to her .

So your sister is not the bio mother of these kids she has custody right? I do not believe she has the right to give you custody, the bio mother can petition for custody once she finds out the kids are not with your sister. Your sister can probably give you guardianship. Unless she adopted the kids they are not totally hers to give to other people.

children dont decide
