Can I sue my neighbor for damage to my items?

My neighbors relative cause a fire that damaged both their apartment and mine. Can i see my neighbor? I didn't have rental insurance.

Sue the person who caused the damage.

Yes you can, but this is why you should always have renters insurance. It's cheap.

You can sue them but if they do not have insurance either, I do not know how you will actually recover any judgement.
