I recently found out 2 people were having an extra-marital affair. I sent some of those incriminating emails to the husband of the woman involved.
Now the guy involved in the affair is threatening to take civil action against me...can he really do that?
What are my rights? An urgent reply will be appreciated.

He can threaten all he wants. Just stop communicating with him.

It might be humorous to think what kind of civil action he might be able to take. Unless you and he had some kind of a confidential relationship (i.e. you were his minister or therapist), or unless you were attempting to extort something out of him, I don't see that you have anything to really worry about.

As previously advised, just don't communicate with him. If he calls, tell him not to call back, and if he continues, call the cops.
