Buying a Short Sale Condo?

I have found a condo in NV that I am interested in purchasing. The price is good, but probably because it is a short sale. My question is what would I be getting into in trying to buy this condo. I spoke to a real estate agent regarding this, and he suggested I find another property. I would appreciate any advice on this matter.

Do your homework. Find out if there are any problems with the property (have it checked from top to bottom), check out its title (make sure is clean) and investigate the history of the location where the property is and anything that can help you make the decision (such as neighbors, school districts, hospitals, access to main thoroughfares, etc...). Finally, get a second opinion from a different realtor and see what his/her thoughts are regarding it. If you see any red flags, then it is your call to make. Good Luck to you!
