Coworker says he can get us lions/ bears game incl. bus ride for 60 bucks per person. 55 of us give him the money. He says we got outbid , and claims we are getting refund checks from bus company and from ford field. The whole thing stinks of a scam. What legal recourse should we pursue if this guy doesn't come up with the 3300 dollars soon?

Unless you can show he took the money under false pretenses and maybe put it to some other use you won't likely get a criminal action.
If he fails to repay you then your option is to obtain a judgment in civil court.
Ask him to produce receipts for any deposits he made and include you on any correspondence regarding the refund.

You can file a police report but that might not get your money back though.
