Boxing Club Closure

What basically happened I signed up for a 1 year membership at my boxing club on March 16th 2007, and the club closed down on May 24th 2007. I was given a receipt for the membership and under the terms and conditions section I was unable to find any information regards refunds or forfieting my money if the club was closed. I was wondering if I was able to take the owner to small claims court to get back a portion of my money.

Could you please let me know what I could do.

You could do that. But before that, search from county tax office or other business registries on the alternate addresses or contacts of the owner or management. See what they are willing to do before thinking of taking them to court. See the property owner who would have their contacts and try to solve amicably………….If it fails then based on the terms of your agreement, you can decide on what is the best option. Communicate with them not only by phone but also in a documentable for which can be used as evidence if necessary.
