Bonus Paid in Error even though earned

I was paid a bonus that I should not have received even though I earned it the policy is you have to be employed on the date of payout and there is a 60-90 day lag. I was sent a live check in error do I need to return it

When you called your employer and asked them, what did they say?

They want it returned but it is only for 1600. and I have over 1200 in outstanding expenses that were never paid so it was almost like karma that I got this check in the mail

A policy that you have to be employed on the day the bonus is released, to receive that bonus, is legal iin most if not all states.
