My jurisdiction is: Michigan

My boyfriend is convinced that since my GRANDmother and GRANDfather were both born in Canada, and even though both my mother and I were born here in the states, that means I may be able to have a dual citizenship available to me. My grandparents both became US Citizens before my mother was born. I wonder if that is even a little true, as I remain totally unconvinced by what I've read here and other places.

As I understand it, the right to Canadian citizenship is acquired from one's parents, not from one's grandparents. Unless your parents were registered and obtained a Registration of Birth Abroad, your parents were not Canadian citizens, and you don't have a right to Canadian citizenship.
