Bait and Switch Maybe? (Relocation to Another Position, Same Company)

I accepted an offer for a particular job within my company, but it was for another job site. The relocation was from California to Alabama. Everything was clear via interview and offer letter where I would be working and what program.

When I got to Alabama, I was placed on an entirely different program, which impacted my career for a couple of years now.

The impacts were, the length and health of the program I was placed on. The opportunities that were spoke on, did not exist. The requisition that I applied, interviewed, accepted and moved across country for, did not exist.

Is that illegal?

As you have described it, no, it was not illegal. It is possible that the answer may be different based on EXACTLY what was in the offer letter and any associated documentation; also depending on WHY the program did not/no longer existed.

ONLY an Alabama attorney who has read all of the documentation involved could say for certain. But nothing you have posted suggests illegality.
