Bad Checks-Waiting Period

My boyfriend has had some trouble in the past with writing bad checks, this was about 4 years ago. He says that he has to wait 7 years before getting another checking account because his name is on some "check list". I was wondering if this is true, or if he made good on all of the checks and cleared the account if he can call this "check list" and have his name removed. Anyone know anything about this? Thanks.

negative entries in your credit history remain for 7 years, that is correct.

Depending on what state you all are in.....theres many banks that offer second chance bank accounts.And a lot of times you may be in Chex Systems but not in telecheck or either or...Unless your boyfriend just went writting bad checks for fun....Some banks will give you a checking account with no overdraft protections.There are many ways....you can email me at chanda492002@yahoo.com and I will find you the website that show banks in all states that offer second chance.
