Alimoney payments were arranged at $20,000 per month - for life or until remarriage - in 1992 in the state of California. During 1994, due to recession and no revenue of the spouse's (male) business, a judge temporarily reduced alimoney payments to 25% of the prior arangement. The judge asked to revisit the issue in 6 to 24 months, depending on how quickly the business began to regenerate revenue again. Niether party ever re-entered court and instead made adjustments outside of court once the business began to generate revenue. Assuming the business has done as well or better as when the intial settlement was determined, how long does the recipient (female) of the alimony have to return to court and leagally attempt to adjust the wages?
