I have received a letter from this organization (August 2014) requiring payment of personal property taxes due from July 1 2000 in an amout of over $1000.00 I am not sure how to find out the date my CT plates were returned to the DMV (after 14 years) but I do know that all mail had a forwarding address from that residence during that time period and I have never received a bill from the town of Fairfield. I can't believe that it is legal for one to accru 18% per annum in interest charges over 14 years without any notification. Not sure what action to take.

Best action to take is to ignore it. It is not a bill, it is a scam.
