I work for a grocery warehouse on the border of weld county and boulder county in Colorado and was fired Monday for socializing at a bar with an employee that worked under me at work. Another supervisor that was at the bar and the told VP of operations that I was socializing with this individual. I was accused of fratinization?? I have shown no favoritism to him or any other employee I have ran into outside of work. Do I have a case??

Contact an employment attorney In Colorado, it is "a discriminatory or an unfair employment practice for an employer to terminate one's employment for engaging in any lawful activity off the premises of the employer during nonworking hours unless such a restriction:
(a) relates to a bona fide occupational requirement or is reasonably and rationally related to the employment activities… or (b) Is necessary to avoid a conflict of interest…" Colo. Rev. Stat. Ann. §24-34-402.5 (2001). (Wilson,Filosa, & Fennel, 2003)
