Our son, 20 years old, was charged with Sexual Harassment and signed a plea. After he was released from jail he went to his probation officer and was required to sign documents or he couldn't leave her office a free man. We now learn that he is being treated like a sexual offender with the same probation. This was a teenage incident with his sister and he was goofing around, and ripped a towel off of his younger sister. She has told the DA that this incident was mentioned in passing to her therapist and now blown out of proportion. She was told he would have 3 years probation for sexual harassment, no jail time. It was a lie, he served time and has outragous conditions that is making our lives impossible. These obligations are going to present a financial hardship for us and our son. Along with that he is required to work or go to school, but he will probably not find work and we will have to pay for school. He was represented by a Public Defender, but I'm certain this agreement isn't something any of us can live with and more importantly, it does not reflect just punishment. What can we do now that we have just seen the paperwork?
