The charge is Assaut 1. with a deadly weapon. two people i live with were trying to kick the victim out. (the police had already been to the house twice the previous week to deal with the victim. ) I tried to break up the fight, and was throw into the kitchen by the victim. We were all under the influence of alcohol. In an attempt to knock the victim out so that the fighting would stop i tapped him on the head with the hammer, this cracked the victims skull. I did not believe i had hurt him beyond a scatch until i talked to my girlfriend from jail. she said he had a skull fracture. I have a previous felony from the 90's. any advice?

Hire an attorney yesterday!

You hit someone in the head with a hammer!? You're lucky they didn't charge you with attempted murder!

Ah, alcohol ... what fun. Keep in mind that in most states inebriation is not a mitigating factor in crimes.
