Adult Adoption in Florida

Meeting with attorney in a week but had a few questions in the meantime.

My Husband of 14 years wants to adopt my son who is 18. His biological Father has not seen or had any contact with him in four years. I'm aware of paperwork and that other party (his Father) has to receive notification and hearing info.

Is this a pretty easy process?

Can Father go to hearing or stop process/adoption?

I'm just not familiar with the process once paperwork has been submitted.
