I am wanting to adopt my mildly mentally disabled 16 year old stepdaughter. Her BF has never been in her life and a courthouse in FL relinquished all parental rights to my wife. The courthouse here does not offer the form and I do not have the finances to obtain a lawyer. The questions that I have are:
1. Do we still have to try and contact the BF, even though we do not know where he is located?
2. Are there other options in obtaining the form needed to start the adoption?
3. Do we need a copy of the decree stating that my wife has full custody of her daughter?
If additional information is needed, I am willing to provide it.
