Additional Production

Hello

I have recently completed a cd with and the engineer that did the editing and mixing is requesting and additional credit of "Additional Production by Mr X" Exactly what are they asking for and what rights does this give them?? I am the producer of this CD and am concerned they are trying to estabish co-production credit..

Your thoughts would be grealy appreciated

People typically like to get recognition of their work. I don't know all the details but you should probably make sure there is no demand for additional compensation or ownership in exchange for a "credit" of some sort. You might even want to reduce this to writing. I don't think you have to do so if the person was hired to do a job, but it seems somewhat common in the industry and good for relationships. Perhaps "additional production" might be too lofty. It's your call.
