accident no insurance 2 years ago

got in an accident in the year of 2006 i had no insurance and was my fault.the person had full insurance that would cover it.now a collection agency says i owe the insurance company 20,000 $ is there anything i can do to make it less or not to pay
please help

Call them to negotiate the amount down; as far as not paying, that will be a tough one since you were at fault.

its the car insurance company that covered it and the collection agency is the one trying to come after me after two years a friend told me they cant really do anything unless they take me to court because i have not agreed to pay it.. is this true and if so whats the chance of them taking me to court
