Hello all,
I Started my FMLA on MAy 25th and had a baby on June 15th... I work at a school so from july 14 to august 14th the facility was closed but on my Fmla form I requested to be back to work on september the 10th... Does the time that the school was closed should count against me? Well I do not understand because my employer called me yesterday which was september 5th without any notification telling me that my position at work was no longer available.. CAn someone help me understand?

FMLA allows you 90 days, I do not believe there are any provisions about the business being closed. If you could not come back to work on the 90th day you should have requested an extension.

They are allowed to fire you/lay you off while on FMLA they just cannot do it solely because of the reason you went on FMLA. If you have concerns you should see an employee law attorney or do an internet search of FMLA guidelines.
