We're considering possible either moving in together or getting married.

1) Could she still collect his social security income?
2) He was a software engineer - could she still collect his pension?

Would it be better to live together for her to collect income from his SS and pension?
Advantages and Disadvantages?

Could she still collect his social security income?

No. However, she MIGHT (depending on facts not provided) be able to receive her own social security old-age benefit based on his work history.

He was a software engineer - could she still collect his pension?

One would need to read the pension plan to answer this.

Would it be better to live together for her to collect income from his SS and pension?

Better than what? If you're asking whether the two of you getting married (as opposed to merely living together) will impact her potential SS or pension benefits, the answer is yes (as to SS) and we have no way of knowing (as to the pension).
