I have been legally seperated from my Husband and the seperation was filed on June 29th 2005. There is a stipulation in the agreement that my a life insurance policy that my husband holds on me thru his job was to be cancelled 30 days after the filing of the seperation agreement and I was suppose to receive notice that this was done. That is the only things that my husband has not adhered to. I have spoken to my attorney numerous times and he has sent letters to my husbands attorney about this and still nothing has come thru and he still holds an active policy on me. The problem is my attorney doesn't seem to think this is a big deal. I want this policy cancelled and I want the proof. My attorney did sent a letter August of 2006 and advised my husbands attorney that he would start judicial intervention and an application will be made to the court for counsel fees, But he said to me when my husband or his attorney did not provide this cancellation notice to " just sign the divoce papers and never mind anything else.
I am really upset over this. My lawyer is a Pro Bono lawyer and I feel that He just doesn't want to put the foot work in on this seperation or divorce.
Is there anything I can do to make him inforce this stipulation now or in my divorce agreement? I would appreciate any information.
Thank you
Gina
Can anyone please help me with this.
Thank you

Well you are asking him to do even more work on the house. That is probably why you aren't getting the most zealous advocacy.

But this is something that could be dealt with later and if you really want to, you could send a letter yourself to the insurance company stating that this court order is in violation of your agreement and that the only person that has the rights to insure yourself is you. I know it must be hard and you must have a lot of anger towards your husband. But I think it's better to just get the divorce and sever it already. Get on with your life and do it while you can quickly and cleanly. :D

The problem is I don't know the insurance Company name. This policy was taken thru his job and he was named benificiary. This has nothing to do with anger or what ever it was part of the Seperation Agreement and I just want that Insurance policy cancelled. Would sending a letter to his job witha copy of the Seperation Agreement Help m e to get this taken care of.
Thank You
