Well,
being nice is haunting me. Divorced for 3 years, without legal advice . we agreed on
keeping it nice, after 18 years.
I got some pay , my x kept the apartment . The court undersigned the declaration , stating, that I am not any longer responsible for the house loan.
Time passes by.
I am asking for a new loan for a different property. Oops, very sorry, you have an existing loan, cant have another one.
Not even a new credit card . The loan is over a million dollars, nothing fancy in San Francisco.
But , I don't make that much money, my x was the producer.
refinance isn't working at the moment, the value of the house dropped.
An assumption was just decline. So, what are my options here, are there any??

thank you

Yes, am still on.
She tried to refinance 3 month ago, but the bank said they wouldn't, since the market price went down under.
its more loan than the place is worth.
Now, obviously , I would never had agreed to a divorce without selling the place, or signing a quit claim deed.

Signing a quitclaim deed won't get your name off the note. In fact, it is almost useless in taking your name off the deed.

Have you spoken with your attorney about this? Tell me you had an attorney.

I'll add an extra-big PLEASE there...

No , obviously not, no attorney.
The only time I saw one was before the divorce , and they sounded brutal. Back than I didn't think
I should go that route, since I had still feelings for the x.
Its not looking good , isn't it ?
