Definitely check with your attorney, but look at it this way: you have to do what's best for your kids. They must be going through a lot right now as well, and a family support system would help them, as well as you!

I think that too often, lawyers take advantage of the hard to understand legalize that laws are written in. They twist things around, and you end up paying more than you actually owed to begin with! I would definitely continue to make those payments, but look into getting the rest of it...

That sounds pretty much like a sweepstakes type of thing. People buy "raffle tickets" and enter to "win" the prize. It doesn't sound like shopping. IMHO, as long as sweepstakes or raffles are allowed in TN, then it should be allowed, right?

Just curious...but if your Mom & step-dad truly were that abusive, why would you want to come visit?? Your father should have gone through official channels, rather than just kidnapping you. I don't think that he did the right thing by you...and speaking as a parent, I would want justice...
