Speeding ticket reduce from 4 points to 2...should I go to court?

This is great news :) I'm by no means a regular speeder so I don't think the points will be an issue if a 110a violation has minimal insurance impact. I'm definitely going to look into an online DDC. Thank you again for all the insights!

Speeding ticket reduce from 4 points to 2...should I go to court?

Wow, did not know this (and it seems like no one I know knew this either)! This is certainly very enlightening. Looks like I'll be accepting the plea offer and not going to court...seems like this is the best deal I'm likely to get. And I'll most likely enroll in a DDC as well, to prevent...

Speeding ticket reduce from 4 points to 2...should I go to court?

Thanks for the reply, Highwayman! This interesting. And it's Pembroke Town Court, and yes, the reduction was to VTL 1110a.

Speeding ticket reduce from 4 points to 2...should I go to court?

Thanks mightymoose! I read that I could take a 5 hour driving course that may remove up to 4 points from my license, but this didn't sound like a guarantee...I'll have to look into it further! Would you happen to know whether insurance companies increase rates based on your record of violations...

Speeding ticket reduce from 4 points to 2...should I go to court?

Hello all, I received a speeding ticket for going 53 in a 40mph speed trap (must have missed the first 40mph sign after a long stretch in which the speed limit was 55mph). This was my first ever speeding violation. My initial charge would have put 4 points on my license, so I hired an attorney...

Alcohol violations, expired license, and insurance?

Understood - it won't happen again. I'll ask a new question here instead. My son who wasn't behind the wheel originally had the intention of pleading guilty to the last two charges (the only ones he was charged with), so he already filled in the ticket forms with a pen as "guilty". He has not...

Alcohol violations, expired license, and insurance?

The VTL ticket is not being adjudicated by the same court as the park tickets. I assume this is a good thing. Thank you Highwayman!

Alcohol violations, expired license, and insurance?

I did return to it, but since someone in that forum reported my post, two of my responses (including my initial thread-starting post, which I edited to add the details you asked for) are presently invisible until they can be checked by a moderator :/ I've been posting in multiple forums because...

Alcohol violations, expired license, and insurance?

Thank you adjusterjack! I appreciate your detailed response! I should mention - my sons don't have credit reports or credit scores, since they don't have their own credit accounts. Can you offer any advice about what would be the best course of action from here, to avoid increased insurance...

Alcohol violations, expired license, and insurance?

Hello all, The other night my son and his friends made the foolhardy decision of drinking a few beers in his car in a public park after dark, while he had a recently expired license. We live in Suffolk County, New York. Long story short, they were approached by officers who gave him four...
