I have someone in my employment program whose parents used her SS# and name to obtain a couple credit cards and put some utility bills in her name. They did this when she was still a minor living in their home. When she was 18 she mopved out and in with her boyfriend and now she is being hounded by the creditors for these outstanding bills that her parents raked up on the credit cards and unpaid utility bills that were in her name.
She states that she did not kow that they had used her name and SS# to obtain this and she never signed anything asking for these cards.
She lives here in upstate NY.. is there any recourse she can take other than taking her parents to court...?
