What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Michigan

I rent a room on a month by month basis in my landlord/roommate's condo. I am leaving at the end of the month without giving him any notice. Long story, involving him entering my room without permission....inadequate locks on doors....etc..

Can he retaliate against me? There is no written agreement of any sort. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Can he retaliate against you legally? Yes, if he wishes.

Month to month rental agreements typically require a 30 day notice that the tenant is leaving. Your landlord can sue you for a months rent (or, if you provided a security deposit equivalent to a months rent, keep this amount for the rent).

It would be very unwise to not give notice. Not only can Landlord charge you for one months rent he can also charge you for any cleaning, damages etc. You could lose more than one months rent out of this. If your only complaint is unwelcome entry bite the bullet and give 30 days notice. In meantime remove anything of value to protect yourself
