Our 15 yr old son was charged with "Intimidation by letter". We were given the option to have it go through a diversion program. Our meeting with the arbitrator is approaching and my question is: do we need a lawyer to attend this meeting with us? We did retain a lawyer but at that meeting all he was going to do was contact the state's attorneys office and try to convince them to refer the case to a diversion program. Since that has already happened and he has done nothing other than have an initial consultation with us, do we really need him or not?
